Some more about me

My life has been a series of building blocks, each step informed by the last.

Born in Los Angeles to Korean immigrants, I was raised in a culture of hustle, norae-bangs (Korean karaoke rooms), and a work ethic that shaped who I am today.

Enamored by the power of the written word, I went to the University of California, Los Angeles to study English and expanded into education and global studies. Rooted in the saying "think global, work local," I aimed to connect work across borders.

After graduation, I taught in rural South Korea and earned an M.S.Ed in International Education Development from the University of Pennsylvania. I got to work internationally with organizations like the United Nations in Bangkok and the International City/County Management Association in Washington, DC.

And, since 2015, I’ve been back in California, continuing to work in resource access and education with brilliant organizations and, even more, brilliant people.

Outside of work….

  • I am a proud mother, sister, daughter, and friend.

  • I love all things food - dining together, testing recipes, the experience of it, and supporting the restaurant community 🥡

  • I’m an advocate for mental health care. It changed my life & I believe intergenerational healing is one of the most inspiring movements of our time.

  • I find my focus in three things: music, writing, and competitive cooking shows.

  • And my sun is in Sagittarius and moon in Leo - bring on your analysis 😈
